Snowball Festival 2026

One winter day. One shared place. Just come and have fun.

Winter has a way of pulling people indoors. The Snowball Festival does the opposite.

On Saturday, February 7, Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation invites the entire community to step outside, bundle up, and gather for a few hours of uncomplicated joy. No tickets. No pressure. No agenda beyond being together.

For one day, River City Sportsplex becomes a winter playground—a place where laughter echoes, skates scrape the ice, kids bounce, adults linger, and everyone belongs.

This is what community looks like when it’s relaxed, generous, and open.

What to Expect

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy a full lineup of free, family-friendly winter fun:

  • 🛼 Synthetic Ice Skating
Free skate rental included (youth size 8 through adult size 13). Bring your own skates if you like.

  • 🎈 Inflatables & Themed Bounce Houses
High-energy fun for kids—and the young at heart.

  • 🛷 Toboggan Ride & Winter Activities
    Because winter should feel playful.

  • 📸 Walk-In Snow Globe Photo Experience
Step inside and capture a memory worth keeping.

  • 🍔 Food & Drink Vendors
Enjoy a variety of local food options available for purchase.

Admission and all activities are completely free. The only cost is food and drinks from vendors.

Why We Gather

In 2026, Chesterfield County is focusing on big ideas—Community Environment, Food Security, and Lifting Up Marginalized Communities. These themes guide long-term work.

But sometimes, the most important thing a community can do is simpler.

Show up.
Share space.
Laugh together.

The Snowball Festival is a reminder that strong communities aren’t built only through programs and plans. They’re built through moments—small, human moments—where people feel welcome, safe, and seen.

For one winter afternoon, that’s enough.
