Organization Summary

C-Fit Community is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to create an inclusive culture of positive change that enhances the health, well-being, and quality of life for Chesterfield County residents, workers, youth, and visitors. We strive to engage our community through a collaboration among various county departments, business partners, nonprofits, and other local organizations with an interest in improving our collective health and wellness.


Position Profile

The Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator is a part-time position (10 hours/week). This position is responsible for two main business focuses: the creation and execution of communications, marketing, and social media content, as well as the creation, organization, and implementation of a variety of C-Fit Community’s events, initiatives, and volunteer recruitment. This position provides an opportunity to use creative and organizational skills to make a positive impact in the Chesterfield community. The position reports to the Executive Director and Community Wellness Coordinator.


Responsibilities

  • Writing and producing content for social media platforms (currently Facebook and Instagram).
  • Providing updates to our website, including events and resources, and newsletter creation and distribution.
  • Representing C-Fit Community at various events to enhance our presence in the community and build/maintain healthy relationships.
  • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers for C-Fit Community events and initiatives.
  • Being a liaison to the Board and/or organization for committees and groups.

Qualifications

  • Passion for the Chesterfield community and a drive to engage with others to increase the quality of life for those who live, learn, work, and play in Chesterfield County.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to easily interact with individuals and community leaders.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and the ability to quickly adjust to a variety of environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, as well as via social media and email.
  • Must be available for in-person and virtual interactions and events when requested.

Education/Experience

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Communications
  • Preferred: Prior communications and community engagement experience

Salary

Compensation for this position is $25/hour. The position hours are approximately 10 hours/week. No benefits are included in this position.
