C-Fit Community shows the way by compiling resources on meditation, mindfulness, reflective practices such as journaling, faith and spiritual exploration, and emotional balance, as well as a wealth of mental health services.
The Department of Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) is the provider of mental health, developmental disabilities and
substance use disorder services for children and adults in Chesterfield County. Services are also available for very young children through our Prevention and Early Intervention Programs.
The McShin Foundation is Virginia’s leading authentic peer-to-peer Recovery Community Organization (RCO), defined in part as having resources such as: Halfway Houses, Transitional Recovery Houses, linkage to Medical Detox Services, and being connected with alcohol and drug rehabs, substance abuse treatment and aftercare. McShin offers a social model recovery program that implements authentic Peer-to-peer delivered Recovery Support Services (PRSS).

Virginia 4-H is the youth development education program of Virginia Cooperative Extension. The four H’s are: head, heart, hands and health. 4-H is rich with learning experiences that partner young people with caring adults and volunteers in a fellowship
unlike any other program available to youth today. Through 4-H, young people are encouraged to participate in a variety of
activities that emphasize 4-H’s learning by doing philosophy of youth development.
